10 Reasons to Love Adventures by Disney

It’s Tammy here, and I just returned from an amazing trip to Germany with Adventures by Disney!  It’s a once in a lifetime kind of trip!  Well, a once in a lifetime trip that I want to repeat as soon as possible.  Here are 10 reasons why:

1. Nicest Hotels – I’m all about a great hotel room in a great location, and Adventures by Disney gives you that.  Every hotel was in the best location of whichever town we were staying in.  In Munich we had a rooftop pool and were steps away from the biggest sites.  In Rothenberg we were in the middle of the beautiful medieval town which put us close to everything.  We finished the week in Berlin in a luxury hotel with rooms we never wanted to leave.  But that would have been crazy because there was so much to see around us!

2. Every Detail is Taken Care Of – No planning is required.  Disney takes care of everything.  Pack your passport and your clothes and they’ll take care of the rest.  Don’t worry about which train to get on, what time to book a tour, or even where to find bathrooms or food while you’re out touring.  Disney has got you covered.  They seem to have anticipated every need you may have!

3. Luggage Transfers – Once you arrive in your first city, your luggage carrying days are over.  Disney will ensure that your luggage appears in your room in every hotel you visit.  Just pack up your bags and have them ready by the time they give you, and voila!  You are luggage free!

4. Two Guides – Unlike many guided tours, Adventures by Disney has two guides.  Two guides means they can team up or divide and conquer!  Whichever the situation requires.  And these guides will be your best friends.  They’ve got snacks for you, Tylenol, Band-Aids, recommendations, knowledge, cheerful smiles and seemingly endless bottles of water.  You’ll want to take them home with you!

5. Local Guides – Disney has also arranged for local guides to give tours in each town.  These local guides tell you stories and teach you things in a way that only a local could.  We had a guide with us the first few days in Munich who was one of the most knowledgeable, insightful and entertaining people I have ever met.  He was worth every penny Disney was paying him and more (and you don’t tip the local tour guides—again, Disney has that covered).

6. Exclusive Activities – Disney has arranged for some things that the average tourist can’t.  Sometimes it’s just skipping a line that others had to stand in, sometimes it’s an exclusive activity.  Either way, it’s a good feeling!

7. Admissions are Covered – Don’t worry about spending more on entrance fees or activities once you arrive.  With some tour groups, those costs aren’t included, but with Disney they are!  Everything that was scheduled was included in the price of the trip.  Even some things that weren’t.  We had a free afternoon in Berlin and were given free admissions to their biggest museums in case anyone wanted to visit.

8. Internal Transportation Costs are Covered – You’ll probably be visiting more than one city during your trip, and Disney is going to get you there.  We took a charter bus to most cities and rode a train to another.  All rides and train tickets were included.  No extra, unplanned costs were involved.

9. Every Activity is Well Thought Out –  We didn’t have a single activity that I didn’t enjoy.  There were at least two things on our itinerary that I wasn’t particularly excited about.  One was dressing up in medieval costumes in Rothenberg, and one was a graffiti workshop in Berlin.  I went to both and was shocked at how much fun they were!  They ended up being some of our favorite things we did!  Disney tries out the activities beforehand, takes feedback, and makes sure they don’t waste your valuable time on any clunkers.

10. There is Flexibility – Don’t worry if an organized tour seems too regimented for you.  There is some flexibility.  Our group ended up being mostly adults, with just three children.  We spent one morning at a concentration camp and Disney, wisely, recommended the children not come.  The alternate activity was a tour of the BMW factory, but that didn’t appeal to the kids and their moms that were with them.  So, the kids and guides worked out a new option together at the children’s science museum (including an impromptu stop to make ice cream at a creamery) and all had a great time!  Winning all around!

I can’t say enough good things about Adventures by Disney and the quality of the trip they put on.  We walked away with new friendships and memories that will last a lifetime!
